Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher with 7+ years in Environmental Health, Safety, Engineering, or Manufacturing.
  • OR High School Diploma with 11+ years in Environmental Health, Safety, Engineering, and/or Manufacturing.
  • 3 years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Master’s degree or higher in EHS/Engineering or related field is a plus.
  • Ten years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide environment, health and safety leadership and direction for the Monrovia site.
  • Manage EHS program plans, investigations and risk management.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA and related agencies.

Here, you will make an impact by:Providing environment, health and safety leadership and direction, in consultation with the leadership team at the Monrovia, CA site and Corporate EHS Team.Setting short and long-term strategic direction, site EHS priorities and assigning resourcesManaging the maintenance of, and improvements in the site’s implementation of Solventum EHS Management System and Facility EHS program plans (incident investigations, response teams, Management of Change processes, EHS systems/data/methodologies, process safety assurance, industrial hygiene, fire protection, ergonomics, etc.)Managing risk and protecting the company’s employees, assets, and intellectual property; ensuring compliance to all applicable standards and regulations and conformance to all Solventum EHS expectationsSupporting and communicating with site management, who have accountability for site EHS performanceElevating site EHS culture through an expansion of standard work, employee engagement, mentoring and coaching, assuring effective and efficient resources (people and capital) and a pervasive full compliance mindsetEnsuring strong alignment of department goals, metrics and targets with the plant vision and targetsManaging to site performance targets, coaching and leading salaried and hourly employeesInteracting with internal auditors and regulatory agencies and serving as liaison between Solventum and governmental agencies to obtain the necessary permit related to health/safety/environment for the plant operationDeveloping and maintaining the technical competency for the Team and provides leadership, coaching and direction to direct reportsKeep up to date with applicable regulations. Your Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) AND seven (7) years of experience in Environmental Health, Safety, Engineering, and/or ManufacturingORHigh School Diploma/GED AND eleven (11) years of experience in Environmental Health, Safety, Engineering, and/or ManufacturingANDIn addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:Three (3) years of experience in a supervisory roleAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Master's degree or higher in Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering, Science, or a related discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.Ten (10) years of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) experience in a manufacturing or production environment in a private, public, government, or military organization.Experience leading an EHS function or team with responsibility for risk reduction, regulatory compliance, and EHS program implementation.Experience developing, implementing, and sustaining EHS programs, policies, and procedures across manufacturing or production operations.Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Quality Improvement certification, or equivalent continuous improvement certification.Experience leading change management initiatives related to EHS programs, regulatory requirements, operational improvements, or organizational transformation.Experience communicating EHS requirements, compliance obligations, and program objectives to leaders, employees, regulators, and other stakeholders.Experience with state and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and related regulatory agencies.Professional EHS certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), or similar credential.Work location:Onsite Monrovia, CATravel: May include up to 5% domestic/internationalRelocation Assistance: May be authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-beingSolventum offers many programs to help you live your best life – both physically and financially.
