Job summary

Solventum is seeking an EHS Specialist to support and lead EHS programs at our Irvine, CA site. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, manage stormwater and hazardous waste programs, and provide technical EHS support for equipment and process changes.

You will conduct risk assessments, drive corrective actions, assist with incident investigations, and participate in site inspections and regulatory interactions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher with 2+ years EHS experience OR High School Diploma/GED with 6+ years EHS experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with Plant Management and production employees.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and EHS regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support site EHS programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including regulatory reporting and tracking.
  • Lead Stormwater and Hazardous Waste programs; act as primary contact for compliance activities, monitoring, reporting, and corrective actions with support from EHS Manager.
  • Provide technical EHS support for new/modified equipment, new product introductions, incoming material approval, and change management.
  • Conduct risk assessments and support corrective actions to reduce risk and improve site performance.
  • Assist with incident investigations, including root cause analysis and CAPA development.
  • Support inspections, audits, and regulatory interactions, including preparation, participation, and follow-up.

How you will make an impact
  • Support site EHS programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including regulatory reporting and tracking, while promoting a strong EHS culture and awareness of initiatives
  • Lead the site's Stormwater and Hazardous Waste programs, serving as the primary point of contact for compliance activities, monitoring, reporting, and corrective actions, with support from the EHS Manager
  • Provide technical EHS support for new or modified equipment, new product introductions, incoming material approval, and management of change
  • Conduct risk assessments and support implementation of corrective actions to reduce risk, drive continuous improvement, and improve overall site performance
  • Assist with incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective and preventative action development
  • Support inspections, audits, and regulatory interactions, including preparation, participation, and follow-up
Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution AND (2) two years of experience in EHS in a private, public, government or military environment OR High School Diploma/GED from AND (6) six years in experience in EHS in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with Plant Management and production employees
  • Strong attention to detail with effective prioritization and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001
  • Experience with hazardous waste management, stormwater management, lock out/tag out, machine guarding, and/or emergency response teams in a manufacturing environment
  • Certifications such as: Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH); Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM); Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other related credentials
Work Location & Travel

Work location: Onsite Irvine, CA

Travel: May include up to 5% [domestic/international]

Applicable to US Applicants Only: The expected compensation range for this position is $85,200 - $117,150, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.

In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
