Job summary

Solventum is seeking a Facilities Operations Supervisor in Monrovia, CA. You will lead Maintenance and Tool & Die teams, coordinate scheduling for staff, and drive safe operations across complex factory facilities.

You will mentor technicians, implement automation initiatives, and partner with engineers on improvement projects while ensuring compliance and operational excellence. This role requires strong leadership and hands-on technical expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field with manufacturing experience.
• Alternative: Associate's degree/Technical Diploma with significant manufacturing background.
• High School Diploma with substantial manufacturing experience accepted.
• Supervisory and project leadership experience across facilities or production.

Responsibilities

• Lead Maintenance and Tool & Die teams, directing scheduling for salaried staff and craftspeople.
• Provide training, tools, and safety measures to maintain a safe work environment.
• Address complex facilities and equipment issues with technical problem solving.
• Support automation and new tech; train technicians in controls, PLCs, robotics, and vision systems.
• Assess facilities and lead improvement projects in collaboration with engineers.

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

• Leading Maintenance and Tool & Die teams and providing direction on scheduling and assignments for salaried employees and craftspeople involved in the fabrication, installation, operation, and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
• Evaluating and providing appropriate training, tools, equipment, and information, including changes that may impact employees' work environment, while monitoring and maintaining a safe workplace through review of employee training specific to their craft and work assignments.
• Applying broad technical knowledge and extensive experience to address variations in work conditions and operations, solving complex and diverse problems involving facilities and equipment, and supervising the development and implementation of process and tool improvements that support business and strategic objectives.
• Supporting the implementation of automation and disruptive technologies, identifying and coordinating advanced technical training for Maintenance Technicians in controls, PLCs, robotics, laser technology, 3D printing, and vision systems, and developing and maintaining a highly skilled Tooling team to support high-precision tooling requirements.
• Assessing facility and equipment conditions, proposing facility and equipment improvement projects based on those assessments, and assisting engineers with the planning and execution of improvement initiatives.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) AND five (5) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government, or military environment OR Associate's degree or Technical Diploma (completed and verified prior to start) AND seven (7) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government, or military environment OR High School Diploma/GED (completed and verified prior to start) AND nine (9) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.

• Master’s degree in a science discipline (completed and verified prior to start).
• Five (5) years of experience supporting electrical systems, controls systems, machine shop operations, and/or facilities operations in a private, public, government, or military environment.
• Three (3) years of supervisory, team lead, or people leadership experience.
• Experience managing engineering projects involving multiple stakeholders, priorities, or technical disciplines.
• Experience analyzing and resolving complex manufacturing, engineering, operational, or technical issues.

• Travel: May include up to 5% domestic/international

Applicable to US Applicants Only: The expected compensation range for this position is $107,600 - $147,950, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible.
