Job summary

Solventum is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Intern to support the Brookings site. You will help coordinate and execute EHS compliance across MOC, ergonomics, and safety programs to promote a safer workplace.

You will gain hands-on experience delivering EHS training, engaging in audits, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, including documentation and project support.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• Experience with environmental health and safety coursework and internship experience is considered.

Responsibilities

• Supports Brookings EHS compliance initiatives across MOC, ergonomics, powered industrial vehicles, process safety, fall protection, LOTO, machine guarding, and emergency response coordination.
• Assists in documenting plant systems to ensure OSHA/EHS requirements and Solventum programs are met.
• Leads EHS projects, delivers required EHS training, participates in audits, and coordinates EHS topics.
• Supports site processes to ensure continuous improvement of the EHS program and assists in equipment design/installation.
• Contributes to annual EHS planning and Lean Six Sigma target achievement.

This role involves active participation across several areas of EHS, including industrial hygiene, ergonomics, safety and injury prevention, incident investigation, employee engagement, and emergency preparedness. You will play a key role in developing and implementing the annual EHS plan, as well as driving continuous improvement efforts aimed at enhancing EHS practices and processes to promote a safer workplace.
