Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager

The EHS Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA’s Process Safety Management (PSM), EPA’s Risk Management Program (RMP), and other EHS regulations. The role involves implementing best practices, maintaining regulatory compliance, and fostering a strong behavioral-based safety culture through cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure compliance with all applicable EHS regulations.
  2. Lead PSM/RMP compliance efforts and continuous improvement at the site.
  3. Conduct EHS walk-throughs, hazard identifications, safety observations, and risk assessments to promote transparent compliance.
  4. Audit physical conditions and safe work practices, researching standards and regulations.
  5. Ensure timely completion of PSM-related training, including Operator, Contractor Safety, and Mechanical Integrity Training.
  6. Implement and maintain policies related to occupational safety, health, accident prevention, and environmental compliance.
  7. Lead investigations of near misses, incidents, and root causes, ensuring effective communication across sites.
  8. Manage documentation for PSM/RMP recommendations, audit findings, and corrective actions.
  9. Develop programs aimed at reducing incidents and injuries, emphasizing near miss reporting and risk mitigation.
  10. Oversee EHS training programs covering Emergency Action, Fire Prevention, Hazard Communication, GHS, Lockout/Tagout, and waste management.
  11. Manage Process Safety Information (PSI) and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs).
  12. Compile data for timely federal and state EHS reporting.
  13. Participate in safety reviews and Management of Change processes.
  14. Serve as Incident Commander and develop hazardous waste operations and spill response teams.
  15. Facilitate EHS committees to promote a sustainable safety culture.
  16. Maintain communication with EHS leadership to ensure alignment on safety priorities.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental science, health, chemistry, engineering, or related field.
  2. At least 5 years of EHS experience in an industrial environment, preferably in process manufacturing, petrochemical, or chemical manufacturing.
  3. Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and relevant regulations.
  4. Proven ability to lead PSM/RMP initiatives and implement process safety changes.
  5. Excellent communication and leadership skills to foster a proactive safety culture.
