Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager
The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager will report directly to the Site/Plant Manager, with indirect reporting to the corporate Director of Environmental Safety Industrial Health (ESIH). The EHS Manager will oversee the deployment and sustainability of Rocklin’s Environmental Health and Safety Management System and promote a strong EHS culture as part of the Site Leadership Team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conduct regular safety inspections, identify and correct unsafe conditions and behaviors.
- Manage the plant safety training program, including conducting trainings, testing, and documentation.
- Perform housekeeping audits and implement corrective actions.
- Lead safety committee meetings and drive safety initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards.
- Monitor and maintain the site’s EHS systems and environmental permits.
- Develop and implement site safety policies, training programs, and procedures to prevent injuries and illnesses.
- Maintain Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Equipment Hazard Analysis (EHA) documentation.
- Document and monitor corrective actions from inspections, audits, incidents, and injuries.
- Coordinate EHS training for new hires and other topics with site managers.
- Analyze and process EHS inspections and audits across all site areas.
- Provide EHS expertise and support to employees and visitors.
- Manage time effectively to fulfill all EHS duties.
- Collaborate with employees to resolve safety issues using consultative techniques.
- Address and resolve daily EHS problems by analyzing solutions and applying best practices.
- Communicate and implement corporate ESIH goals related to ESG, Life Safety, Security, Risk Management, Emergency Management, and Industrial Hygiene.
- Prepare and generate EHS reports as required.
- Lead small EHS projects or projects with minimal complexity.
- Oversee and facilitate the site Safety Committee.
- Serve as a resource for other departments as needed.
- Maintain all site records related to EHS activities.
- Lead emergency response efforts during spills, property damage, and other incidents.
- Manage environmental responsibilities, including waste management, spill prevention, and disaster response.
- Investigate incidents and prepare Root Cause Analyses (RCA).
- Assist in preparing safety plans for remote or off-site projects.
- Act as the administrator for all EHS documentation and files.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide training on process capability and problem-solving methods.
- Maintain organized facilities and work areas, aligned with housekeeping and 5S standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Manager and Director of ESIH.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 5 years of EHS experience in an industrial environment required, or a related college degree (AA or BS preferred).
- 1-4 years of environmental compliance experience, with HMBP experience preferred.
- CPR certification (preferred).
- OSHA 10 & 30-hour training (preferred).
- Any EHS-related certification (preferred).
- First Aid/Responder or EMT certification (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to maintain accurate records and generate reports.
- Strong multitasking and teamwork skills.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Moderate mobility, good vision, dexterity, hearing, and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Customer-service attitude.
- This is an office-based, non-remote position located in Rocklin, CA, requiring indoor and outdoor work.
- Occasional travel to rental locations in FL, GA, MD, PA, and TX.
