Job summary

Interfor Corporation in Port Angeles, WA is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Intern for an on-site summer opportunity. You will work with experienced professionals, apply classroom learning, and help promote safer, more sustainable workplaces during a 4- to 8-month term with a May start.

The role includes assisting with inspections, data analysis in Excel, updating procedures, and supporting EHS projects across the mill.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a post-secondary program related to Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or Public Health.
• Committed to maintaining a safe work environment with rigor and integrity.
• Comfortable analyzing information and using Microsoft Excel; SQL or Tableau is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support environmental, health, and safety initiatives across a manufacturing operation.
• Assist with inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and compliance activities.
• Review and analyze safety or environmental data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Help develop or update procedures, training materials, and EHS documentation.
• Contribute to project work by reviewing requirements, identifying gaps, and recommending practical solutions.
• Collaborate with employees and leaders across the site in both office and mill floor environments.
• Observe how EHS programs protect people, improve processes, and support responsible operations.
