Job summary

Interfor Corporation invites applications for an Environmental, Health & Safety Intern position in Longview, Washington. This on-site role is designed to connect classroom learning with hands-on experience across manufacturing operations, safety programs, and environmental practices.

You will support EH&S initiatives, assist with inspections and audits, and help analyze data to identify improvement opportunities while developing procedures and training materials.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a post-secondary program related to Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or Public Health.
• Committed to maintaining a safe work environment without compromise.
• Comfortable analyzing information and using Microsoft Excel; experience with SQL or Tableau is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support environmental, health, and safety initiatives across a manufacturing operation.
• Assist with inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and compliance activities.
• Review and analyze safety or environmental data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Help develop or update procedures, training materials, and EHS documentation.
• Contribute to project work by reviewing requirements, identifying gaps, and recommending practical solutions.
• Collaborate with employees and leaders across the site while gaining experience in both office and industrial environments.
• See firsthand how EHS programs help protect people, improve processes, and support responsible operations
