Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist

3-10 Years Experience

Located in Central Indiana, a multi-billion dollar global manufacturing company committed to a green environmental future, is seeking an EHS Engineer/Specialist to join their team.

EHS Specialist Responsibilities:

• Participate in implementing green manufacturing practices and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
• Collaborate with state and federal agencies on environmental compliance matters such as air permits, water permits, waste management, and soil contamination with EPA & OSHA.
• Participate in emergency response planning, sustainability initiatives, and health and wellness programs related to ergonomics and overall well-being.
• Engage in safety and hazard assessment activities, including process hazard analysis and job safety analysis.

EHS Preferred Skills:

• 3-10 years of experience in Environmental and Safety roles (EHS / HSE).
• Regulatory knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and familiarity with local and state regulations.
• Prior knowledge of EHS programs, risk assessments, safety protocols, and tracking of recordable injury rates is a plus but not required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering or certifications in EHS and/or Safety (CSP certification) or a degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Physics.
• A Master's Degree or other advanced degree is highly desirable.
