Regional Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager

Overview

Our Regional Manager of Environmental Health and Safety will champion our national injury prevention initiatives. You will be responsible for administering, coordinating, and measuring the results of our risk management programs and other policies impacting the environmental health and safety of our workforce, clients, and tenants. The individual will identify, evaluate, and analyze work environments to mitigate risks, manage programs, and establish procedures that eliminate or control workplace hazards. Developing and conducting safety training for front-line employees and performing observations to reinforce positive behaviors and correct at-risk behaviors are key responsibilities. An ideal candidate will have experience in facilities management, especially in trades such as engineering, mechanical, and janitorial.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Manage employee training and awareness programs.
  2. Develop, implement, and coordinate EHS programs.
  3. Ensure full implementation of UG2 EHS programs across all sites.
  4. Work with operations to investigate work-related injuries and accidents, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and share lessons learned.
  5. Establish and lead internal audits to evaluate conformance and effectiveness of health and safety processes.
  6. Collaborate with claim management and operations to ensure timely filing of Worker's Compensation claims.
  7. Facilitate safety orientation for new sites or employees with operations managers.
  8. Conduct training to keep personnel informed on procedures, equipment, and quality control techniques, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  9. Manage risk management performance data at a regional level, including KPIs and incident rates.
  10. Oversee UG2's Fleet Management Program.

Supervisory Responsibilities

No direct reports. Provide oversight, direction, and support to operations managers, field supervisors, and employees.

Requirements
  • BA/BS in Safety, Engineering, or related sciences preferred.
  • Subject matter expertise in local, state, and federal EHS regulations.
  • 6+ years of occupational HSE experience, including management overseeing multiple sites.
  • Knowledge of risk recognition, assessment, and control techniques.
  • Effective communication and computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Fleet Management Programs.
  • Analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills for decision-making and long-term planning.
  • Occupational Health & Safety Certification (ASP, CSP, or CIH) is a plus.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • Majority of travel within California; limited travel to surrounding regions.
  • Ability to climb ladders, access elevated areas, and lift up to 50 pounds.
