Job description

This position is accountable for supporting and maintaining the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs, activities, and control measures for the site. It involves coordinating these efforts with various compliance programs to protect all personnel and physical assets. The role helps ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental requirements under federal, state, and local laws and regulations.


Additional Information

Shift: Monday-Friday, day shift hours with flexibility based on business needs. Supporting 24/7 operations.

Travel: 10%

This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus and various health benefits, including medical, dental, vision coverage, FSAs, disability coverage, security, retirement, and savings benefits. The role involves contact with employees and access to confidential and proprietary information, which may be supervised or unsupervised. A criminal history review is required to protect the company's operations, reputation, staff, employees, and business relationships.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country without sponsorship now or in the future
  • Must have an associate’s degree or higher, or two years of relevant work experience in EHS

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Formal training and/or at least one year of experience applying continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, etc.
  • At least one year of experience working in a manufacturing or distribution facility
  • Experience managing industrial safety standards, including respirator and lifting safety
  • Experience in EHS or completion of Sherwin-Williams Development Program in EHS
  • Experience using safety management systems
  • Experience conducting or developing training materials
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in EHS, Engineering, or Business
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement programs to reduce occupational injuries, illnesses, and property losses
  • Integrate risk and loss controls into daily operations
  • Support employee-led safety committees
  • Maintain incident management systems and safety observation/hazard tracking systems
  • Analyze incident data and recommend corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental laws and regulations
  • Lead site EHS training programs
  • Promote a positive safety culture through proactive engagement and presence on the shop floor
