The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 4 years of experience in EHS roles, demonstrating strong leadership and analytical skills.
Robinson Investments is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our team. This individual will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive EHS program that ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The EHS Specialist will play a key role in cultivating a culture of safety and continuous improvement across the organization.
Champion and promote the company's core values and safety culture across all levels of the organization.
Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all applicable EHS laws and regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc.), ensuring company-wide compliance and timely reporting.
Conduct regular facility inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective measures.
Monitor and track safety performance metrics; analyze data and trends to drive safety improvements.
Collaborate with Human Resources on Workers' Compensation claims and return-to-work programs.
Lead and participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and toolbox talks with staff and management.
Develop and maintain emergency response plans; coordinate drills and ensure all equipment and protocols are in place and functioning.
Foster employee engagement in safety programs by encouraging participation and feedback.
Work closely with managers and supervisors to integrate safety into daily operations and strategic decisions.
Establish and manage an effective incident and near-miss reporting system; conduct investigations, identify root causes, and implement preventive actions.
Assess training needs and coordinate or deliver safety-related training for employees, including new hire orientations, refresher courses, and job-specific programs.
Maintain accurate documentation of all safety activities, including inspections, training records, audits, and incident reports.
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in an EHS-related role.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to influence safety culture and employee behavior.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc.).
Proficient in industrial ergonomics and hazard recognition.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Professional demeanor with a positive, proactive attitude.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong computer skills, including MS Office and EHS-related systems.
Certifications in CPR, First Aid.
OSHA 10hr, 30hr, or 40hr training.
OSHA 500 certification.
Hazmat certification and experience with hazardous materials handling and documentation.
