Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator
Join our team as an Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator where you will act as a vital link in developing and advancing our safety protocols, ensuring a safe and compliant working environment across our manufacturing operations. This role places you at the heart of our organizational structure, allowing you to design, implement, and lead proactive safety programs that not only meet compliance standards but also drive continuous improvement and operational excellence in health and safety practices.
Salary: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive occupational safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and corporate goals.
- Conduct detailed risk assessments, and design and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Perform regular safety audits, prepare detailed reports on findings, and suggest improvements.
- Lead organizational safety training sessions to ensure employee safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Investigate industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures.
- Review plans and specifications for new machinery or equipment to make sure they meet safety requirements.
- Identify and recommend changes to workplace processes by analyzing accident or environmental data, and implementing safety policies and procedures.
- Manage and maintain safety documentation and records to comply with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers and physicians to institute control and remedial measures for hazardous and potentially hazardous conditions or equipment.
- Plan and lead emergency drills and exercises to ensure effective preparation and response to workplace emergencies.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, health, or related field.
- Minimum 1 year of occupational health and safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety legislation.
- Strong communication and leadership skills evident in previous roles.
- Proven ability to design and lead safety training and education programs.
- Detail-oriented and analytical nature for conducting thorough inspections and audits.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with database management systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional safety certifications such as CRSP, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information.
- Experience with workers' compensation legislation and safety management systems.
- Advanced MS Suite skills, particularly in Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
- Proven track record in managing and supervising safety initiatives and projects in manufacturing settings.
- Strong project management skills and experience in leading cross-functional teams.
