Position Description:

The Regional EHS Manager is responsible for ensuring the effective implementation and sustainment of ATD’s EHS Programs within an assigned region of distribution centers and delivery operations. The Regional EHS Manager will partner with operations leaders to continuously seek improvement in performance, innovation in problem solving, and achievement of best-in-class EHS results.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Ensure the effective implementation of company EHS programs within the assigned regional distribution centers and transportation delivery operations.
Partner with regional leadership to proactively anticipate, identify, and mitigate risks within the supply chain to improve overall EHS performance.
Leverage lean and six sigma principles to lead kaizen process improvement events.
Support new facility or retrofit design reviews to ensure use of prevention through design and incorporation of EHS standards in all engineering and real estate projects in the region.
Identify opportunities to integrate safety into operational processes, standard operating procedures, and training.
Conduct facility audits/inspections to ensure alignment with ATD EHS Programs and applicable regulatory requirements.
Assist distribution centers with incident investigations and identifying effective corrective measures.
Analyze data to determine trends and appropriate actions to improve regional EHS performance.
Lead ongoing regional improvement initiatives to achieve yearly and long term EHS goals.

Experience(s) that Best Prepares You:

Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety or related discipline and minimum of 7 years industry experience in the field of environment, health and safety leadership. Distribution Center/Warehousing and DOT Transportation focus preferred.
Industry credentialing such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
Functional knowledge of Federal regulations and consensus standards including OSHA, EPA, DOT, and NFPA.
Maintain an effective balance of technical writing and creativity / communication to create highly refined work products for nationwide facility use / implementation
Ability to effectively interact and communicate at all levels of the organization and influence without authority
Proficient with digital safety management systems, Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook email

Additional Details (work environment, specializations, etc.)

Physical demands:
Ability to sit, stand, walk for lengthy periods of time.
Ability to use a computer and peripherals (mouse, keypad, etc) for lengthy periods.
Ability to train / give instruction to large groups of people.
Travel required:
Scheduled - Approximately 20-40% via car / air throughout United States with stayover
Unscheduled/Emergency – Infrequently / as needed to support Safety / emergency situations
