Description
The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the environmental health and safety programs within the organization to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role involves the development, training, and enforcement of policies related to employee safety, environmental compliance, and health standards. The EHS Coordinator will work closely with employees and management to identify and mitigate risks, improve safety practices, and promote an ongoing culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
- Actively participate on the Strategic Safety Team at the Sandusky International (SI) Division and participate in the EHS Shared Services Team
- Manage EHS program development, deployment, and enforcement
- Manage all EHS training, including the development of training materials, leading training sessions, and maintaining training records
- Manage reporting and record-keeping for EHS compliance and leadership engagement
- Manage risk assessment and mitigation process
- Assist with incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including fire safety, first aid, evacuation procedures coordinate drills, and serve as the primary contact for emergency situations
- Manage medical monitoring programs for silica, sound, general industrial health, etc.
Requirements
- B.S. Degree in environmental/safety or equivalent degree and experience
- A minimum of 1 year of EHS experience within a manufacturing setting
- Strong demonstrated analytical, communication, and leadership skills are essential
