Job summary

Stantec is seeking a GIS Technician / Geospatial Analyst to join the Environmental Services Geospatial team in the Mid-Atlantic Region. You will provide mapping applications, spatial analysis, and map production support on ESRI ArcGIS platforms, plus project support for multiple assignments.

The role emphasizes collaboration with over 160 geospatial professionals, adherence to data standards, and delivering GIS products for environmental assessments and regulatory processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in GIS, Geography, Geoscience, Environmental Science, or related field.
• 1–3 years of professional GIS experience preferred.
• Experience with Environmental Assessments or regulatory processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Compile, create and maintain spatial and non-spatial information for ESRI ArcGIS software and related platforms.
• Work in Windows 11 and MS Office suite (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint).
• Produce custom thematic map products and carry out data analysis to support multidisciplinary project deliverables.
• Prepare web maps, online dashboards, and manage data for field survey crews (Survey123, Field Maps, AGO).
• Support geospatial field data collection (wetlands, waterways, species occurrences).
• Adhere to cartographic standards and QA/QC processes.
• Manage project-specific and reference geospatial data per data standards.
• Identify and initiate corrective actions for developing technical issues.
