Job summary

Stantec seeks a Geospatial Analyst to join our Environmental Services Geospatial team in Madison, WI. You will support mapping, spatial analysis and map production within an ESRI Enterprise environment, collaborating with 160+ geospatial professionals.

You will prepare web maps and dashboards, manage field survey data, and ensure QA/QC across diverse projects like wetlands and habitats. This role reports to the Great Lakes Geospatial Team Lead.

Qualifications

• Experience with ESRI ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online platforms.
• Ability to compile, analyze, and summarize spatial data.
• Familiarity with field data collection workflows and surveys.

Responsibilities

• Compile, create and maintain spatial and non-spatial information for ESRI platforms.
• Produce custom thematic maps and data analysis summaries for deliverables.
• Prepare web maps, dashboards, and manage data for field survey crews.
• Support geospatial field data collection for wetlands, waterways, and habitats.
• Adhere to cartographic standards and QA/QC processes.
• Manage diverse geospatial data per data management standards.
• Identify technical issues early and coordinate corrective actions.
• Collaborate with GIS staff in other Stantec offices and report to the Great Lakes Geospatial Team Lead.

Job description

We are seeking a talented Geospatial Analyst to join our team. You will be part of a collaborative group of GIS Specialists and Data Services professionals who deliver innovative solutions to both internal and external clients within an ESRI Enterprise environment.

As a member of our Environmental Services Geospatial team—comprising over 160 geospatial professionals, you will help identify client needs and recommend optimal geospatial technologies and solutions to meet business objectives. Our team is solid and experienced, with an average of 15 years of professional expertise. We’re proud to say that our department has a strong retention rate, with employees staying with the company for more then 10 years in average.

As a Geospatial Analyst with Stantec you will provide technical support which includes mapping applications, spatial analysis, and map production; as well as project support for assigned projects. This is a full-time position working with our Great Lakes Environmental Services (ES) group.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Compile, create and maintain spatial and non-spatial information for a variety of platforms primarily involving ESRI ArcGIS Software (ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online (AGO)).
• Work in Windows 11 Enterprise and using MS Office suite of applications (Teams, Outlook, Word, Access, Excel, SharePoint).
• Produce custom thematic map products and carry out data analysis/summaries to support multidisciplinary project deliverables.
• Prepare web maps, online dashboards, and manage data for field survey crews, using applications and platforms which include Survey 123, Field Maps, and ArcGIS Online.
• Supporting geospatial field data collection efforts. Typical collected features include wetlands, waterways and rare, threatened, or endangered species occurrences or habitats.
• Adhering to established cartographic standards and Quality Assurance / Quality Control processes.
• Managing a wide variety of project-specific and reference geospatial data in accordance with defined data management standards.
• Recognizes when technical problems are developing and initiates appropriate corrective actions.
• Collaborating with existing GIS staff members working in other Stantec offices.
• Report to the Great Lakes Geospatial Team Lead.
