Job summary

Stantec in Richmond, VA seeks a GIS Technician / Geospatial Analyst to support environmental projects in an ESRI Enterprise environment. You will map, analyze, and produce geospatial deliverables across multiple platforms, collaborating with a team of 160+ GIS professionals.

Requirements include a GIS-related bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and 1–3 years of experience. CAD skills and field data collection are a plus. Primary location: Richmond, VA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Geoscience, Environmental Science, or related field with GIS training or coursework.
• 1–3 years of professional GIS experience preferred.
• Experience delivering GIS products and analyses for environmental assessments is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Compile, create and maintain spatial and non-spatial data using ESRI ArcGIS software (Pro, AGO).
• Produce custom thematic maps and perform data summaries for multidisciplinary projects.
• Prepare web maps, dashboards, and manage data for field crews using Survey123, Field Maps, and AGO.
• Support geospatial field data collection for wetlands, waterways, and species occurrences.
• Adhere to cartographic standards and QA/QC processes.
• Manage project geospatial datasets per data management standards.
• Identify and escalate technical issues and collaborate with GIS staff in other offices.
• Report to the Mid-Atlantic Geospatial Team Lead.
