Job summary

Dormont Manufacturing Co. is seeking a seasoned Foreman to lead civil construction projects, supervise subcontractors, and coordinate with the Project Manager, clients, and agency reps.

You will ensure on-time delivery, safety compliance, and accurate reporting on labor, equipment, and materials. The role requires 7-10 years' site supervision experience, strong leadership, and a focus on safety and efficiency in excavation and grading environments.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 7-10 years in civil construction with excavation and grading experience.
  • HAZWOPER 40-Hr or refresher, CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
  • Proven leadership and safety-focused supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily tailgate meetings and site safety discussions with PPE emphasis.
  • Oversee subcontractors, coordinate activities and schedules.
  • Plan material needs and delivery to sustain workflow.
  • Provide daily progress, labor, equipment, and cost reporting.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment and tools on site.
  • Communicate with Project Manager, clients, and vendors to keep on schedule.
  • Identify and address change order conditions promptly.
  • Promote a safe work environment with health and safety activities.

Job description

Join our dynamic team as a Foreman, where you will lead and complete exciting construction projects while managing the efforts of skilled subcontractors. You will be the key communicator, ensuring seamless coordination between the Project Manager, clients, agency representatives, and subcontractors, keeping projects on track and on time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily Briefings: Conduct daily tailgate meetings, engaging the crew with site hazard discussions and safe behavior practices, ensuring everyone is equipped with the proper PPE.
  • Safety First: Lead daily Permit to Work/AHA discussions, highlighting the day’s activities and associated risks.
  • Team Coordination: Review individual assignments with crew members, ensuring clarity and efficiency.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure daily inspections of equipment and tools, maintaining them in top condition.
  • Accurate Documentation: Keep precise daily notes and field logs to track progress and issues.
  • Subcontractor Management: Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, ensuring timely and efficient project progression.
  • Material Planning: Determine material needs and delivery schedules to maintain workflow.
  • Reporting: Provide daily reports on labor, equipment, material usage, and production for accurate job cost tracking.
  • Budget Oversight: Collaborate with the Project Manager to review budgets versus actual costs and production factors.
  • Change Management: Identify and address change order conditions promptly.
  • Health & Safety: Conduct health and safety-related activities to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by management, contributing to the overall success of the project.

Requirements

Qualifications:
