Job summary

CSS is seeking an Environmental Field Technician to support CDC labs and workplaces by collecting waste chemicals and universal wastes and transporting them to storage areas. You will assist with segregation, data entry, and regulatory compliance under the Project Manager.

Qualifications

• Associates or higher in a science field to evaluate hazards and waste.
• English fluency required for reading/writing/speaking.
• Background check and site badge eligibility are required.
• Criminal background not permitted and valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Collect waste chemicals and Universal Wastes from CDC laboratories and transport to storage areas.
• Assist PM with chemical waste segregation for temporary storage and offsite shipment.
• Enter and compile waste generation data into the client’s database.
• Perform compliance inspections of waste accumulation areas and report findings to PM.
• Assist with spill cleanup procedures and materials in case of spills during transport.
• Inspect Spill Control Centers (SCCs) under the project scope and provide monthly reports.
• Restock SCC supplies as needed using client-provided materials.
• Support CSS sustainability by collecting recyclable materials (plastic and glass containers).
