Job summary

Weaver Consultants Group is seeking a Field Technician for Collinsville, IL. This role involves environmental field sampling, monitoring, and reporting across landfill and soil testing projects.

Out-of-town assignments are common, with travel supported and hotel stays as needed. Responsibilities include on-site testing of soils, aggregates, and geosynthetics, data reporting, and strict adherence to health and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required; Associate's preferred in geology, environmental science, or engineering.
• 1–2 years professional field sampling experience preferred.
• Ability to travel out of town for project assignments at least 50% of time.
• Access to a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and safe driving record.
• Ability to follow detailed sampling and analysis plans.
• Strong understanding of and commitment to health and safety protocols.
• Willing to work outdoors in various climates and terrain.
• HazWOPER certification a plus.
• Good communication, writing, and organization skills.
• Ability to use basic computer applications like Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and document construction activities at landfills.
• Perform field and laboratory testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel.
• Communicate with project manager and client representatives regarding requirements and results.
• Prepare and submit data and observations in reports for daily transmittal.
• Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
• Monitor well and landfill gas probes installation and operation.
• Sample soil from Geoprobes and borings for contaminants (VOCs, SVOCs, PCBs, pesticides, metals).
• Adhere to strict safety standards and report safety concerns to management.
