Job summary

Clean Harbors in Urbana, IL is seeking an Environmental General Laborer to join our safety-conscious team. This role involves field work with hazardous waste cleanup, site remediation, and decontamination tasks, including handling hazardous materials.

The position requires driving, physical endurance, and willingness to travel. You will attend paid training, work with a resilient team, and be on-call for emergencies on a rotating schedule, with overtime after 40 hours.

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to perform physical functions per Key Responsibilities.
• On-call emergency response with possible weekends/holidays.
• Background check, drug test, and physical required.
• Respiratory protection per OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the top priority by following policies and acting safely.
• Perform strenuous physical labor including lifting and pulling heavy objects.
• Operate and use various hand tools and powered equipment.
• Wear and use PPE correctly (respirators, protective gear).
• Work outdoors in all weather and temperatures; may face hazardous substances.
