Job summary

Clean Harbors in Davenport, IA is seeking an Environmental General Laborer to join our safety conscious team, performing hazardous waste cleanup, site remediation, equipment decontamination and handling of hazardous materials.

This role requires up to 40% overnight travel, a valid driver's license, and a Monday–Friday schedule with early start times. Training is provided out of state, with travel and training costs covered by the company.

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
• Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks per safety guidelines.
• Willingness to respond to emergencies and work odd hours when required.
• Compliance with respirator and PPE rules as applicable.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and terrains.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety as the top priority by following policies and procedures.
• Engage in physical labor including lifting and pulling heavy objects.
• Operate light and heavy equipment and use a variety of hand and power tools.
• Wear and use PPE properly, including respirators and protective gear.
• Work in various temperatures, indoors and outdoors, and in potentially hazardous environments.
• Follow all regulatory and company guidelines for environmental health and safety.
• Be on-call for emergency response on a rotating basis and support site remediation.
• Assist with field sampling and calibration of meters, as needed.
