Job summary

Patriot Environmental Services in the Western United States is seeking an Environmental Technician to support emergency response, cleanup, and remediation projects with a strong emphasis on safety and quality. You will perform spill response, hazardous waste handling, drum management, and equipment operation, following all procedures for storage and control of hazardous substances.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Some environmental services industry experience preferred.
• Some hazardous waste control experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification required.
• Confined Space Entry certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the top priority in all duties.
• Perform emergency response cleanup including spills and decontamination.
• Sweep, dig, shovel, lift, and pressure wash; handle drums.
• Operate cleanup equipment used in hazardous waste activities.
• Follow procedures for control and storage of hazardous substances.
• Attend safety training as required.
• Respond to 24/7 Emergency Response calls when on standby.
• Work long hours and overtime during day, night or weekend shifts.
