Job summary

Clean Harbors, Inc. in Cleveland, OH is seeking an Environmental General Laborer to support field clean-up, site remediation, and hazardous materials handling. The role includes 6 am starts, long days, and potential 2-week out-of-town assignments with hotel and per diem provided.

Training is provided in a two-week out-of-state academy at company expense. The position offers full safety gear, overtime after 40 hours, and opportunities for growth within a large environmental services company.

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation required.
• Ability to perform physical functions per tasks.
• On-call availability including weekends/holidays possible.
• Background check, drug test, and physical may be required by position.
• Respiratory protection standards may apply per OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies and procedures.
• Engage in strenuous physical labor including lifting and pulling heavy objects.
• Operate light and heavy equipment and hand/powered tools.
• Use PPE correctly including respirators and protective gear.
• Work in various temperatures indoors/outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Handle hazardous materials and assist in waste sampling and profiling as needed.
• Attend compliance and safety meetings and be on call for emergency response on rotating basis.
