Job summary

Clean Harbors in Birmingham, AL is seeking an Environmental Field Laborer to join our safety-conscious team. This role will be active in the field responsible for hazardous waste clean-up, site remediation, equipment decontamination and handling of hazardous materials.

On-site work with exposure to varying temperatures and noise, performing physical tasks and using PPE. Training, benefits after 30 days, and opportunities for growth are offered as part of our comprehensive program.

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation is required for field duties and travel to sites.
• Must be able to perform physical tasks including lifting and sustained labor.
• On-call and possible weekend/holiday emergency response are part of this role.
• Will undergo background check, drug test, and medical screening as required.
• Respiratory protection policy applies; facial hair may affect respirator fit.
• Preferred prior labor experience in environmental or industrial settings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain health and safety as the top priority by following policies.
• Perform strenuous field labor, operate equipment and use hand tools.
• Work outdoors in varied conditions and handle hazardous materials safely.
• Assist in sampling, calibrations, and equipment decontamination as needed.
• Attend safety updates and comply with regulatory requirements.
