Job summary

GHD is seeking an Environmental Field Technician to join the US Central Environmental field team in Taos, NM. You will support remediation and O&M projects across the region, performing field sampling, data collection, and contractor coordination.

The role requires a High School Diploma/GED (a college degree is a plus in environmental fields), 5+ years of field experience, and valid driver’s license, with OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of environmental field experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required; college degree is a plus in environmental related field.
• Must possess good electrical and mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability and willingness to perform field work and overtime as required.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of soil and groundwater remediation systems, including mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Data collection.
• Site inspections and system performance sampling.
• Equipment and chemical inventory.
• Jobsite housekeeping.
• Perform field sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, vapor, etc., per standards.
• Collect detailed field notes and communicate effectively.
• Coordinate with contractors and service providers and oversee contractor activities.
• Provide support and oversight to other field activities as needed.
• Coordinate with project team, local stakeholders, and client.
