Job summary

SGS is seeking an Environmental Field Services Team Leader to oversee sampling operations across NY, NJ, PA, and DE. The role blends field work with leadership, driving project coordination and customer engagement for diverse facilities and vessels.

This player-coach position requires oversight of Field Technicians, active field sampling, and focus on safety, quality, and timely delivery. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related field.
• 3+ years environmental field sampling experience.
• Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to safely lift up to 40 lbs and travel within the region (NJ/NY/PA/DE).
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the region.

Responsibilities

• Perform environmental sampling and field measurements at landfills, remediation sites, industrial facilities, and vessels.
• Coordinate the daily field activities, schedules, and resources of a team of Field Technicians.
• Interface with clients to ensure exceptional service and project execution.
• Maintain accurate field records, chain-of-custody, and regulatory compliance.
• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture with zero compromise on safety.
