Job summary

Braun Intertec in Duluth, MN is seeking an Environmental Scientist or Engineer (0–2 years) to join the Investigation & Remediation team. You will gain hands‑on experience across field and office tasks with a small, collaborative team supporting northern Minnesota projects.

The role offers exposure to Phase I/II ESAs, data interpretation, and regulatory reporting while collaborating with senior staff on diverse client projects and permitting efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in environmental consulting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of environmental regulatory compliance and reporting.
• Ability to troubleshoot field equipment.
• Valid driver's license with willingness to travel to project sites.
• Physical ability to perform fieldwork, including lifting up to 10 lbs and up to 50 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, and vapor for site investigations.
• Support Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments and material inspections.
• Review field data and ensure quality and completeness of reports.
• Coordinate monitoring and compliance testing for remediation projects.
• Travel to project sites and adapt to changing field and office priorities.
