Job summary

The City of Fort Worth Environmental Services Environmental Health Division is seeking an Environmental Field Operations Superintendent to oversee city litter control programs, including litter abatement, illegal dump collections, street sweeping, and vendor management. The role also manages staff, equipment, and budgets while coordinating with multiple stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a related field, 5 years of relevant experience, 2 years of supervisory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in environmental science, environmental engineering, public administration, business administration, or a related field.
• Five (5) years of experience in Environmental Services, Solid Waste Management, Environmental Pollution, Environmental Compliance, Sustainability, Litter Control or related areas.
• Two (2) years of administrative and supervisory experience.
• Valid Texas driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Supervises staff, including prioritizing and assigning work, evaluating performance, and ensuring training and policy compliance.
• Establishes schedules and methods for service delivery and allocates resources accordingly.
• Participates in policy development and monitors activities for compliance and improvements.
• Conducts meetings and presentations with the public and community groups to explain goals and respond to inquiries.
• Coordinates activities with other divisions, departments, and outside agencies; supports the Environmental Services Director.
