Qualifications

• Training and Experience: 60 college credit hours and two years of progressively responsible sub-professional engineering, regulatory or environmental experience.

Responsibilities

• Investigate environmental complaints and determine cause, secure corrective action, and write reports.
• Conduct or oversee field analyses and sampling with field equipment and techniques.
• Inspect facilities discharging stormwater and wastewater; address user questions, violations, or problems.
• Identify industries to be added to the District's databases.
• Send and process industry questionnaires and other required industry reports.
• Inspect hauled waste delivery documents and wastewater quality.
• Respond to emergency sewer bypasses and hazardous material discharges; initiate remedial action.
• Make required reports to MDNR.
• Inspect watercourses and storm sewers for illicit discharges and water quality issues; address unsatisfactory conditions.
• Initiate enforcement actions such as Notices of Violations; maintain files and records.
