Job summary

Missouri Department of Natural Resources in Macon, MO, Northeast Regional Office, seeks an engineer to join the Public Drinking Water Compliance Unit. You will perform technical work implementing state regulations to ensure safe drinking water and assist regulated entities and the public.

Responsibilities include sanitary surveys, well site surveys, construction inspections, documentation, and providing compliance assistance both on-site and in-office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline and 0-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination preferred.
  • Substitutions may be allowed.

  • Schedule and conduct engineering sanitary surveys and investigations at public water systems in the Northeast Region.
  • Schedule and conduct well site surveys in the Northeast Region.
  • Schedule and conduct quarterly and final construction inspections in the Northeast Region.
  • Prepare documentation that is timely and accurate (reports, photographs, data entry, and forms) and conduct follow-up work for timely compliance.
  • Provide compliance and technical assistance to public water systems, both in office and onsite.
  • Perform monitoring and sampling, as needed.
  • Perform other related work as assigned.

This position will be located at the Northeast Regional Office, 1709 Prospect Drive, Macon, Missouri. You will be joining the Public Drinking Water Compliance Unit, where you will work to ensure safe drinking water is provided to citizens in the Northeast Region. You will perform technical work implementing the Missouri Safe Drinking Water Law, Missouri Code of State Regulations, and the Water Safety and Security Act to evaluate and determine environmental compliance and assist regulated entities and the general public.

  • Schedule and conduct engineering sanitary surveys and investigations at public water systems in the Northeast Region.
  • Schedule and conduct well site surveys in the Northeast Region.
  • Schedule and conduct quarterly and final construction inspections in the Northeast Region.

  • Provide compliance and technical assistance to public water systems, both in office and onsite.
