Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Progressively responsible engineering experience (4+ years) preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of civil engineering principles and district regulations.
• Strong problem solving, communication and data interpretation skills.
• Experience with spreadsheets, word processing and design software.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering plans and specifications.
• Excellent technical reporting and record-keeping abilities.
• Strong written and oral communication; able to build relationships with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise as part of a design/construction team producing plans and specs for district projects.
• Compile data and check layouts of manholes, inlets, and pipelines; compute hydraulic properties.
• Correlate information from maps and plans; extend project estimates; prep for bidding.
• Perform related civil engineering work and site inspections as needed.
• Investigate storm water, sanitary, and combined sewer concerns and advise solutions.
• Meet with officials, consultants, and the public to define district policies and responsibilities.
