Job summary

Greatjob is seeking an Environmental Crew Leader in Ohio to supervise daily environmental construction crews and subcontractors, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance on projects involving demolition, earthwork, restoration, and stormwater management.

The role requires operating heavy equipment, coordinating with clients, mentoring field staff, and maintaining accurate field documentation. Strong leadership and safety focus are essential for delivering on-time, on-budget results.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in environmental or civil construction
• Leadership experience 1+ years preferred
• Valid state driver’s license; DOT medical card or equipment certifications a plus; Heavy equipment certification or vocational training preferred
• Experience interpreting blueprints, site maps, and environmental work plans

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of internal crews and subcontractors on environmental job sites; assign tasks based on project plans and crew skills
• Operate and oversee safe use of heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, and skid steers
• Ensure site safety, compliance with OSHA and environmental permits, and maintain necessary documentation
• Coordinate with clients and project managers to confirm scope, changes, and site-specific concerns
• Complete daily field reports and track labor, materials, and equipment usage
• Identify opportunities for process, safety, and training improvements and lead implementation
