Job summary

Clean Harbors is hiring an Environmental Field Chemist to handle, segregate, pack, and inspect chemical waste at customer sites and facilities. This entry-level management track offers paid training, and opportunities to advance into a Salary Management role after 18–36 months.

This customer-facing role requires a valid driver’s license, CDL B with hazmat, and successful completion of a background check and drug test. Housing and benefits follow after onboarding.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• CDL Class B with hazmat and tanker endorsement within 6 months of employment required.
• Background check and drug test required.
• Physically able to perform duties; respiratory protection standards followed per OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize Health and Safety in all tasks and follow company policies.
• Prepare packing lists, labels, manifests, and disposal notifications.
• Inspect staging, storage areas, and drums for leaks, spills and labeling compliance.
• Package waste chemicals safely for disposal and execute jobs at customer locations.
• Ensure project preparation and approvals before shipment; comply with OSHA/EPA/DOT rules.
