Job summary

Clean Harbors is seeking an Environmental Field Chemist (CleanPack Chemist) to support customers across Central Oregon, including Bend, Redmond and Madras. This field-based role involves waste packaging, segregation, and preparing materials for transport at customer sites, with CDL training provided and opportunities for career advancement.

We offer a path to obtain a Class B CDL and operate a 26-foot box truck, with occasional overnight travel required.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s license is required.
• Strong customer service skills.
• CDL Class B with hazmat and tanker endorsements must be obtained within 6 months.
• Ability to perform physical job duties and pass required checks.
• Willingness to travel Central Oregon with overnight stays.
• CDL training will be provided and accelerated timeline pursued.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the top priority and follow safe work practices.
• Prepare packing lists, labels, manifest and disposal notifications.
• Inspect staging areas, storage drums, and ensure proper labeling and housekeeping.
• Package waste chemicals for disposal and maintain compliance.
• Perform field services at customer locations including Fortune 500 clients.
• Comply with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company policies and regulations.
• Safely operate vehicles per DOT and local requirements.
• Support training and transition to CDL Class B endorsements.
