Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation (MPC) offers environmental internship/co‑op opportunities for students pursuing Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Science. Interns work with professionals across Refining, Midstream Crude Oil & Products Logistics, and Natural Gas services, gaining hands-on program development and policy experience.

On‑site, 40 hours/week, Findlay, OH, with training in health, environmental, safety & security subjects.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Science.
• Concurrent enrollment in a Bachelor's degree seeking program for the duration of the internship experience.
• Strong academic performance.
• Available to work on site 40 hours per week.
• Must be able to safely ascend/descend stairs and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license for work-related travel.
• Authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
• Available for multiple work terms preferred.
• MIN - $24.09 per hour / MAX - $43.23 per hour

Responsibilities

• Interpret and/or develop Company environmental policies and guidelines; develop methods for implementing conformance.
• Provide guidance and technical assistance in organizing and establishing programs and procedures; monitor compliance.
• Design/review engineering designs and cost estimates for environmental equipment/systems; determine engineering specs.
• Identify and investigate environmental problems; initiate steps to prevent recurrences and communicate with senior management.
• Keep abreast of environmental legislation and regulatory actions; assess impact and obtain permits as required.
• Develop environmental information, manuals, training material and programs; conduct training sessions.
