Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation (MPC) offers internship and co-op opportunities for environmental interns to gain hands-on experience in refining, midstream, and environmental services at Findlay, Ohio. Interns work on-site within health, environment, safety, and security programs and collaborate with experienced professionals.

Responsibilities include developing environmental policies, ensuring compliance, and training staff while contributing to project design and regulatory assessments.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Science.
• Concurrent enrollment for the duration of the internship.
• Available to work on site 40 hours per week.
• Must be able to ascend/descend stairs and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license for work-related travel.
• Authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
• Available for multiple work terms preferred.
• MIN - $24.09 per hour / MAX - $43.23 per hour

Responsibilities

• Interpret and/or develop Company environmental policies and guidelines; develop methods and procedures for implementing and ensuring conformance.
• Provide guidance and technical assistance in organizing programs and procedures to implement requirements, including budget inputs.
• Design/review engineering designs and cost estimates for environmental equipment/systems; determine specifications.
• Identify and investigate environmental problems to determine causes and provide recommendations.
• Stay current with environmental legislation and regulatory actions; communicate impacts to senior management.
• Develop environmental information, manuals, training material and programs; inform employees of related policies; conduct trainings.
