Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation (MPC) offers environmental internships and co-ops for students pursuing engineering or environmental science degrees. Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Science.
  • Concurrent enrollment for duration of internship.
  • Strong academic performance.
  • On-site availability 40 hours per week.
  • Valid driver's license for work-related travel.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Available for multiple work terms preferred.
  • MIN - $24.09 per hour / MAX - $43.23 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and/or develop MPC environmental policies and guidelines; and develop methods and procedures for implementing and assuring conformance.
  • Provide guidance and technical assistance in organizing and establishing programs and procedures to implement and administer requirements; monitor compliance with these policies in assigned areas and direct related reports and recommendations to appropriate personnel.
  • Design and/or review engineering designs and cost estimates for environmental equipment/systems; determine engineering specifications and recommend equipment as required.
  • Identify and investigate current and developing environmental problems or issues to determine cause and contributory circumstances; initiate steps to prevent recurrences; provide recommendations to senior management.
  • Keep abreast of environmental legislation, regulatory agency actions, and international standards; assess regulatory impact and communicate with relevant teams.
  • Develop environmental information, manuals, training material and programs; inform employees of related policies and procedures; conduct training sessions.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Science
