Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an entry-level Environmental or Civil Engineering Intern to join our team in Virginia Beach or Fairfax, VA. You will gain hands-on experience across planning, design, and construction while learning from seasoned professionals and contributing to municipal, federal, and industrial projects.

You will assist in researching engineering solutions, supporting analyses, and developing technical documents using ArcGIS, SWMM, CADD, Excel, and related tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 1 year of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Supporting engineering analyses and design efforts on water, wastewater, and environmental projects.
• Assisting with technical reports, calculations, and project documentation.
• Developing maps, figures, presentations, and other project materials.
• Participating in fieldwork and construction management activities, providing exposure to the full project lifecycle.
