Job summary

Granite Construction Company is seeking an intern to assist the Environmental Engineer in implementing the Business Safety Health Environmental and Quality plan. The role involves field inspections, tracking trainings, and supporting permit compliance across water and air permits.

Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in a bachelor's or graduate program, with strong MS Office skills and a proactive, detail-oriented work style.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and document site conditions.
• Attend safety and environmental meetings and present briefs to crews.
• Monitor waste storage, labeling, disposal, and identify recycling opportunities.
• Coordinate with teams to ensure permit compliance for water/air permits and BMP maintenance.
• Maintain digital and physical filing systems and assist with multi-agency documentation.
• Review environmental plans (Spill Prevention, Stormwater, Dust Control) and support field compliance.
• Participate in audit protocols, agency inspections, and emergency response as needed.
