Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking a safety intern/entry-level position in Everett, WA. You will assist in administration of the accident prevention program, conduct jobsite inspections, and help document safety training under supervision.

Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Safety or Occupational Health, possess strong communication skills, and are willing to travel. Proficiency with Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook and bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to teach, mentor and lead.
• Able to work in a high production environment and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel frequently.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Promote compliance with the safety program and accident prevention goals.
• Assist in development/implementation of safety programs to meet standards.
• Perform and document jobsite inspections with hazard recognition focus.
• Assist in safety meetings and training communications.
• Participate in regulatory inspections to ensure compliance.
• Develop and review job hazard analyses for project phases.
• Assist in investigating and maintaining injury/claim records.
• Coordinate with insurance for timely claims information.
