Job summary

DNREC in Delaware seeks engineers at Engineer I level to perform permitting and compliance work for both minor and major facilities. Air permits authorize construction and operation, while compliance ensures adherence to federal and state regulations protecting Delaware's air quality.

The role offers a sign-on bonus with installments after three and eighteen months, and telework options with flexible schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline or FE exam pending (within 9 months).

Responsibilities

• Drafts, develops and modifies engineering designs, plans and specifications.
• Reviews permit applications, blueprints and/or designs to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Applies science and math to research and develop technical solutions.
• Plans and conducts field studies, surveys, research and development projects, inspections and investigations.
• Tests or evaluates materials, equipment, systems and facilities.
• Plans and coordinates engineering projects.
• Reviews, analyzes and reports on project status and regulatory conformance.
• Develops cost estimates for project time and materials.
• Provides technical guidance and training to technical staff.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Civil, Environmental, Industrial, or Mechanical or FE exam (NCEES)
