Job summary

WhyHyre is seeking an EHS Specialist to support a manufacturing operation in the Elgin / Huntley, IL area. The role leans toward the environmental side of EHS, covering hazardous waste, solvents, wastewater, air permits/emissions, regulatory compliance, reporting and audits while staying close to the plant floor to support inspections and training.

The ideal candidate has manufacturing EHS experience, strong environmental compliance background, exposure to air, waste, water and hazardous

Qualifications

• Manufacturing EHS experience in high-speed environments.
• Strong environmental compliance experience and regulatory knowledge.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Ability to work independently and communicate from the plant floor to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead regulatory compliance and environmental reporting tasks.
• Support EHS audits and inspections on site.
• Handle hazardous materials, waste, air permits, and emissions.
• Provide training and enforce LOTO and day-to-day safety standards.
