Job summary

Ampac Holdings, LLC is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support the Elgin and Huntley facilities with a strong environmental focus. The role oversees environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, waste management, air and water permitting, regulatory reporting, and continuous improvement, aligning safety with environmental goals across both sites.

Qualifications

• BS required in a related field.
• Certifications CHMM, ASP/CSP, CIH are preferred.
• 6–8 years' experience in a related field.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Visio, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements safety and environmental policies and procedures including programs, recordkeeping, reports, inspections, monitoring, testing, and training.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations by staying informed about changes and implementing adjustments.
• Deliver EHS training programs to employees at all levels.
• Conduct and document regular EHS audits and inspections to ensure compliance with permits and regulations.
• Coordinate visits from regulatory authorities and file annual local/state/federal environmental reports.
