Job summary

WhyHyre is seeking an EHS Specialist to support a manufacturing operation in the Elgin / Huntley, IL area. I’m recruiting for an EHS Specialist supporting a manufacturing operation in the Elgin / Huntley, IL area.

This role leans heavily toward the environmental side of EHS: hazardous waste, solvents, wastewater, air permits/emissions, regulatory compliance, reporting and audits. You’ll also stay close to the plant floor, supporting inspections, training, LOTO and day-to-day safety needs. The formal role is responsible for regulatory compliance, EHS audits, environmental reporting, hazardous-material handling and employee training.

We’re looking for someone who has:

• Manufacturing EHS experience — ideally in a high-speed environment
• Strong environmental compliance experience
• Exposure to air, waste, water, hazardous materials and regulatory agencies
• Experience supporting internal/external audits
• A related bachelor’s degree
• The ability to work independently, stay organized and communicate from the plant floor to leadership

This is a hands-on individual contributor role — not a position where you simply delegate the work. The official profile calls for 6–8 years of related experience and emphasizes strong organization, communication, problem-solving and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Target compensation: under $100K with 10% bonus
