Job summary

ERM in Irvine, California is hiring a Consulting Associate, Scientist or Engineer to support environmental consulting projects across Southern California. This early-career role offers hands-on exposure to due diligence, site investigations, and sustainability services while building technical and project management skills.

You will work with Project Managers, technical experts, and Partners to deliver high-quality reports, manage multiple assignments, and travel locally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in environmental science, engineering (civil, environmental, mechanical), or related discipline.
• 0+ years of relevant experience; internships and academic research will be considered.
• Capable of thriving in a consulting environment with multiple projects and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft Phase I ESA reports, site reconnaissance, records review, and regulatory research per ASTM E1527-21.
• Provide technical assistance on environmental compliance, management systems, and due diligence.
• Support site investigations, including field work such as inspections and sampling.
• Assist clients with environmental permitting across air, water, waste, and hazardous materials programs.
• Compile and analyze environmental data; prepare tables, figures, and technical reports.
• Support EHS audits and sustainability initiatives, including emissions inventories and regulatory reporting.
