Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science or closely related field is required or preferred.
• No experience required for Environmental Compliance Specialist I.
• Two years of regulatory compliance enforcement experience for Specialist II is desirable.
• Must possess a valid California driver’s license by date of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Support water quality and regulatory compliance across the Environmental Utilities Department.
• Perform inspections, sampling and analysis to ensure permits and standards are met.
• Prepare reports and collaborate to implement best practices for ongoing compliance.
• Contribute to achieving regulatory goals and safeguarding community health.
