Job summary

Colorado State University is seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, to support the U.S. Army Hawaii Environmental Compliance Program.

The role focuses on assessing compliance with environmental laws and regulations and providing technical guidance to units. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in hazardous material/waste management or similar environmental compliance work.
• Must be able to obtain OSHA HAZWOPER certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform site inspections to evaluate compliance programs and report non-compliance with corrective actions.
• Characterize waste streams and determine regulatory status for management.
• Assist in hazardous waste management, universal waste, and recycling efforts.
• Support spill response and cleanup actions.
• Assess and minimize hazardous waste generation.
• Review procedures to identify recycling opportunities.
