Cherokee Federal seeks an Environmental Specialist (Mid) to be onsite at Hickam AFB, Hawaii. The role manages environmental compliance and conservation programs for host and tenant organizations, coordinating with regulatory authorities and DoD requirements.

Responsibilities include field inspections, hazardous material assessments, records transition to Air Force repositories, and preparation of permits. A B.S.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, biology, chemistry, or related field.
• Minimum five years of environmental-program-management experience.
• Minimum three years of military facility or infrastructure experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage environmental compliance and conservation program activities for host and tenant organizations.
• Apply federal, state, DoD, Air Force, and Hawaii environmental requirements.
• Identify environmental compliance risks and corrective actions.
• Lead transition of environmental records from Navy to Air Force repositories.
• Maintain environmental records and data products.
• Coordinate with CES to integrate environmental requirements into planning and design.
• Prepare permit applications and coordinate with regulators.
• Manage inspection schedules and corrective-action trackers.
• Oversee field work including water, soil, asbestos, lead-based paint inspections.
• Evaluate hazardous-material surveys, abatement and remediation proposals, environmental-condition assessments, and environmental-service acquisitions.
• Prepare data-analysis reports and stakeholder communications.
